Is there a way to connect the speaker output from a hi-fi amplifier to a Creative SoundBlaster 16 sound card? I want to record LPs on to CDs.
If this is a proper hi-fi amplifier, it should have an output for a tape recorder. It should be possible to connect this to the sound card's line input socket (not the microphone input, which is too sensitive and will be overloaded). However, the quality may not be hi-fi standard.
Bear in mind that the sound card is a piece of cheap consumer hardware that sits inside a noisy electrical environment, and not a professional recording device. Be aware, too, that what you are thinking of doing may be in breach of copyright. See also tip How to record audio tapes to CD
